- I also had a weird encounter with Software Hut concening some
- memory SIMM's. I ordered two 1 meg GVP SIMM's, they sent the wrong
- SIMM's, I called and let them know they had sent the wrong parts, they
- were VERY rude on the phone. I sent the SIMM's back ( they insisted at
- my expense even though THEY made the mistake ) ,and waited for the
- replacements. Two weeks later I get a package with two more SIMM's,
- these were 16 Meg SIMM's! Not being inclined to take advantage of
- anothers carelessness/stupidity I called and spoke to the "older" lady
- that answers the phones, she told me off for troubling her! I asked to
- speak to a manager, the young woman I spoke to told me that the whole
- situation was MY fault because I didn't know what I was doing and must
- of ordered the wrong part! I pointed out the invoice listed the
- correct part that I had ordered and they had made repeated errors in
- shipping those parts. She blew up, told me off roundly and demanded
- that I pay to ship the second wrong order back to them. I refused,
- told them to arrange pickup at their expense of their over $1000 of
- memory for which I had been billed $109. They had Airbone pick them up
- the following day and a month later I recieved a bill for $25 shipping
- from Airborne ( they had reversed the shipping cahrges! )
- I sent a registered letter to the owner of Software Hut detailing
- this incident and asking they please contact me concerning this
- situation, they never did. I have had problems with other Amiga
- dealers in the past but this incident stands out as an example of how
- not to run a business. Consider it for what it's worth.
